Copying and Sharing Recipes
To copy a recipe, simply click on the 'Copy this recipe' link found above the recipe while viewing. A copy will be placed into your Personal Cookbook for later use.
Q: How do I share/unshare my recipes with friends?
To share recipes with your friends you need to set the recipe to 'Shared'. To do this, edit your recipe and check "Share this recipe". Then save the changes. Then others need your first name and your share id to view them. Once they have this information, they can go to "Shared" and enter the appropriate information to view your shared recipes.
Q: How do I prevent others from copying my recipes?
To prevent others from copying your recipe, you must mark it as unshared. To do this, edit your recipe and uncheck "Share this recipe". Then save the changes. There is currently no way to prevent users from copying recipes marked as 'Shared'.
Q: When I copy a recipe, it asks me to rename it. Why?
To eliminate duplicate recipes and help eliminate confusion, your Personal Cookbook may only have recipes with unique names. If you attempt to copy or enter a recipe and you are notified that one by that name exists, you will be required to enter an alternate name.
Q: How do I view a friend's Shared Cookbook?
You need your friend's first name and share id to view their shared recipes. Once you have this information, you can go to "Shared" and enter the appropriate information to view their shared recipes.
