Q: What is my Personal Cookbook?

Your Personal Cookbook is a place where you can store all of your recipes. This includes recipes you enter, recipes you copy from others, and recipes you copy from the Public Cookbook.  You have the option to share these recipes with others and can submit any of your personal recipes to the Public Cookbook for all to see.

Q: Can people view my Personal Cookbook?

No. Only recipes you have marked 'Shared' can be viewed by friends. For more information on this, please see "What is a Shared Cookbook?"

Q: How do I save a new recipe?

To save a new recipe, click on "New Recipe". This will bring you to a page where you can enter all the recipe information. Clicking "Save" will store the recipe in your Personal Cookbook.  You must be a registered user and signed in to use this feature.

Q: How do I share/unshare my recipes with friends?

To share recipes with your friends you need to set the recipe to 'Shared'. To do this, edit your recipe and check "Share this recipe". Then save the changes.

Q: How do I allow others to view my shared cookbook?

In order for users to view your shared recipes you must have recipes marked as shared.  Then others need your first name and your share id to view them.  Once they have this information, they can go to "Shared" and enter the appropriate information to view your shared recipes.

Q: How do I edit my recipes?

To edit any of your recipes, click on the pencil when viewing the recipe. Make your changes and click "Save".

Q: How do I delete a recipe?

To delete a recipe, click on the trashcan while viewing a recipe. You will be prompted to confirm you wish to delete the recipe.

Q: How do I submit my own recipe for the Public Cookbook?

To subit one of your recipes to the Public Cookbook for others to see, click on the link "Submit this recipe" while viewing the recipe you would like to submit.

Q: My recipe says it is 'pending review', what does this mean?

Recipes submitted to the Public Cookbook must be reviewed before they can be added.  Once your recipe is reviewed and found to be suitable for the Public Cookbook, the status will change.

Q: My recipe says it was 'declined', why?

Recipes can be declined for a number of reasons.  These include but are not limited to vulgar words, inappropriate name or location, not a food recipe, already in Public Cookbook.
